After a long trip by boat, Sinterklaas and his helpers, Pieten, will set foot on land in Hellevoetsluis, a city on the peninsula Voorne-Putten, in the province Zuid-Holland.

Prepare hot cocoa, put kruidnoten and speculaas on the table, and turn on the television at noon to watch the live broadcast by the Dutch NTR.

Sinterklaas and his entourage will do their utmost to meet as many children as possible throughout the Netherlands.

Where can we meet Sinterklaas in the Haarlem Area?

Heemstede,November 12th

10:15 a.m. Sinterklaas’ arrival celebration will start at the harbor of Heemstede.

11 a.m. Sinterklaas and his entourage will arrive by boat.

12:15 p.m. – 1.30 p.m. Sinterklaas will be welcomed at the Raadhuisstraat and the Binnenweg.

Overveen, November 12th

After Sinterklaas will set foot on land in the Netherlands, he will travel to Overveen.

2 p.m. The Pieten Orchestra will arrive in the village, playing Sinterklaas songs.

2:15 p.m. The mayor, Elbert Roest, and children and parents will walk to the lovely train station of Ovrveen to welcome Sinterklaas and his entourage.

3 p.m. Sinterklaas will arrive in the tent at the little square in the village. Kids can shake hands with Sinterklaas and leave him their drawings and wish lists.

Haarlem, November 13th

11:30 a.m. – noon Sinterklaas and his entourage will arrive by Pakjesboat 13, a boat with plenty of gifts for children living in this area. (needles to say is that this is what children think. In the end, you, the parent are Sinterklaas when it comes to the presents the kids will get.)

The boat will sail along the Spaarne River toward the Koudenhorn.

1 p.m. Sinterklaas will continue his way by horse in the direction of the Grote Markt. Here he will be welcomed by the mayor of Haarlem, Jos Wienen.

Kids can meet Sinterklaas and leave him their drawings and wish lists.

Zandvoort, November 13th

11 a.m. After a spectacular arrival by boat at Zandvoort Beach, at the height of Badhuisplein, Sinterklaas will continue his way by car.

After arrival in the center, Sinterklaas will be welcomed by the mayor of Zandvoort.

1 p.m. Kids can meet Sinterklaas and leave him their drawings and wish lists.
