Christmas tree collection made fun in Haarlem and Zandvoort

Haarlem

The municipality of Haarlem arranges a Christmas tree collection on December 29th, January 5th, and 12th, between 12.30 p.m. – 4 pm., in collaboration with Spaarnelanden.

To avoid Christmas trees lying around in the streets and attracting litter, kids up to age 15 can collect as many Christmas trees. In return, they will receive 0,50 Euro cents plus a small voucher. With this voucher, they have a chance to win 500 Euro, intended for a class activity or a charity.

Next to this first prize, there are also 100 10 Euro vouchers which kids can win.

The winners will be mentioned on this page of the Spaarnelanden website on January 14th.

Winners are asked to contact Spaarnelanden before January 21st by sending an e-mail to Communicatie@Spaarnelanden.nl. They have to send a picture of their winning voucher. Furthermore, they have to leave their name, address, phone number, name of the school, and group.

The award ceremony is on Wednesday, January 26th by alderman Eva de Raadt.

When you are 16 years or older, you can also dispose of Christmas trees in the different designated locations. However, you will not be eligible for the 0,50 Euro cents per tree and the vouchers for the lottery.

Zandvoort

Kids living in Zandvoort can leave their collected Christmas trees on January 12th, between 1 p.m. – 3.30 p.m at the designated Zandvoort locations.

Children can win a VVV Gift Voucher with a value of 5 Euro.

Winners will be mentioned on this page of the Spaarnelanden website on January 17th.

They have to contact Spaarnelanden by sending a picture of the winning voucher plus their name, phone number to Zandvoort@Spaarnelanden.nl.

NOTE: Do NOT leave collected Christmas trees in the front garden or the street before you bring them to the designated locations by order of the fire department. It could create a fire hazard.
