The National Tulip Day, held annually in Amsterdam on the third Saturday in January, is a vibrant celebration that marks the start of the tulip season in The Netherlands.
This event transforms the Museumplein into a floral wonderland, offering visitors a unique opportunity to pick their own tulips from a stunning garden of over 200,000 tulips.
Let’s Dance Theme
This year, the theme is “Let’s Dance, ” adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. The event will be kicked off by none other than DJ Hardwell, who will receive a tulip named after him, the Tulipa Hardwell.
Opening Hours
The picking garden opens it doors at 1 p.m., and it remains open until all the tulips are picked. Expect a lively atmosphere with live music for those patiently waiting in line. It’s anticipated to be a bustling event, so arrive early to make the most of the day.
Pick Your Own Bouquet
Upon entering the picking garden, each visitor receives a biodegrable bag capable of holding 20 tulips – the maximum allowed per person. This ensures there are plenty of tulips for eveyone to enjoy.
Don’t miss out this colorful celebration. Mark your agenda and join the festivities!
